Click Here for Grooming Application All dogs, no matter what breed, should be washed, conditioned and blow dried every 4 to 8 weeks. The hairier the dog, the more frequent the grooming. When your dog has "bad" or "dry" skin, 9 times out of 10 it is because of dirty skin. Frequent brushing and combing promotes healthy skin and a shiny coat. Your dog's nails should be cut every 7 to 10 days. Ears should be cleaned twice a week. Start, while your puppy is young, to get your puppy accustomed to grooming. The more frequently you groom your dog, the easier it is on the dog -- and the groomer! There are no shortcuts to a good looking dog. You have to do your part, along with the groomer. grooming and showing dogs since childhood and, with her formal education in science, she also has skills as a veterinary assistant.
